Greta embraces and captures the spirit of the West Coast. Her intricate designs and vivid colours have become a distinctively joyful feature of her artwork, which has gained wide appeal throughout Canada.

After completeing a Fine Arts degree in South Africa, Greta moved to the Sunshine Caost of BC, where she now works out of her studio in Gibsons. Already an established feature in the galleries, her images have been seen diverse application; from book illustrations, posters and T-shirt, to designs promoting a variety of events and festivals.

Greta feels creativity should be encouraged at all ages, which is why children and adults alike attend her popular workshops.

Having lived on the west coast for twenty years, I feel an integration with its character and it has become a vehicle for my artistic expression.

I believe that through the familiar sketches of life, I create a bond with viewers which allows me to converse with them on an aesthetic level. I paint in a way to express my involvement wiht the subject, i.e. I simplify it, distort the forms and perspectives, enhance the expressive value of color and create a rhythm that animates the scene. In this way I hope to develop a visual language that conveys my sense of wonder and materializes the spirit of what I feel.
